Welcome to the first edition of Money Matters for 2020 from the team at Britannia. We hope that the year has started well for you, you’ve had an incredible summer and you have some great plans for the year ahead. Over the past couple of weeks the markets have been skittish, to say the least, but it’s still critical to look ahead to your retirement and what you’re actually investing for. Thinking of planning ahead, “now” is always the time to make sure your retirement plan is in the best shape it could possibly be.
And we can help you do that!
In this issue, we look at how the markets have behaved both recently and over the past decade, delve back in time to see where the concept of retirement originated, and how it’s evolved over the last 100 plus years and what it means for you now in 2020. We’ll also take a look into how much money you might need to fund what you want for your retirement. We are here to help, we have the expertise and tools, but more importantly your Britannia adviser is experienced at listening to your future plans to help create an investment strategy that works for you.
Recently, you will have a received a letter asking you to check your PIR (Prescribed Investor Rate) and tax residency data. If you haven’t had a chance to check this you’ll find all the details you’ll need, as well as a link to our PIR calculator below.
If you have any questions regarding your retirement planning or your Britannia investment please give your adviser a call or email us at investments@britanniafinancial.co.nz – we’d love to hear from you.
